Can't open video .zip files on Windows7 previously recorded on Windows XP external hard drive?
I have previously downloaded videos recorded on Windows XP on an external hard drive. I have a new laptop with Windows7. I can't find a program to open the video .zip files when working on my new Windows7 laptop when I have the external hard drive running. I have tried Realplayer, Windows Media Player, Toshiba Video Player, Quicklime none work. I can't get a decent answer on Google.
if it a .zip you need to open, try 7-zip. Its one of the best free archive tools available. download the version for your PC, and it should work.

Most videos however are not zipped. video compression is usually efficient enough that zipping rarely gives more than a percent or two reduction in size.
If the videos are not zipped but you still cannot play them, try VLC. Similarly, it is one of the best free media players available.
